Getting Close To Nature

It’s hardly a surprise that a country with Australia’s climate has so many outdoor swimming pools, which are especially popular during the heat of an Australian summer. They are mostly used by human swimmers, but on occasion they can be shared with other water-loving creatures. Recently, a group of Australian pranksters put baby crocodiles into a swimming pool in Queensland.

They were spotted by a regular swimmer, who reported the situation to management. Pool staff were then tasked with catching them, which provided plenty of entertainment for those watching. The nine baby crocodiles were reportedly very quick on their feet, both in and out of the water, and gave staff a real run, or swim, for their money. Eventually, all were safely rounded up, and fortunately their parents were nowhere to be seen. The baby crocs were cared for and returned to the wild by a reptile handler, where they will hopefully go on to live long and happy lives.

It’s not the first time Australian wildlife has found its way into human facilities, with Carbrook Golf Club in Brisbane famously having a water feature inhabited by bull sharks. There are believed to be numerous golf balls in the water, which could be collected and resold by anyone keen enough to take on the challenge. For those who prefer an easier life, enlisting the help of a certified translator, someone who holds recognised professional certification as an individual practitioner, can help take some of the bite out of visa paperwork.
