Case Study
A research team from a major Australian university needed transcription services for 25 interviews with medical staff participants from Southeast Asia. Each interview, approximately one hour long, involved specialized medical terminology, as the participants included doctors and nurses. While the participants’ English skills were very good to excellent, the recording quality was less than ideal, with significant background noise.
In six cases, the recordings contained extended breaks or continued running after the interviews ended, resulting in up to 40 minutes of non-speech background noise. We ensured that these unnecessary portions were excluded from the final transcripts, and, of course, we didn’t charge the client for them.
